Though, Metro services are resuming with strict rules and regulations so automated ticket vending machines and contactless ticketing are quite likely to be put in use to avoid the spread of coronavirus. Well, things are getting back to normal or we can say it is the new normal, we must remember that the pandemic is not over yet. As we prepare to use the metro again, here are some tips to ensure safe travel.

Just make sure that you wear a mask and cover your face throughout the journey. Don’t take off your mask at any point when you are inside the train. Also carry disposable masks and gloves, in case they are needed at some point.

  • Avoid lift

Take the staircase whenever possible as using the elevator might put you at the risk of close contact with people. Also, reserve the elevator for those who truly need it.

  • Do not touch poles and doors

When traveling in Delhi Metro avoid touching the poles and handrails. If you have to touch them make sure you are wearing gloves and sanitizing your hands more often.

  • Avoid eating on the train

During this time it is best to bring your own lunch and snacks, but avoid eating it when around someone.

  • Clean the seat

Before sitting down, spray some sanitizer or disinfectant on the seat and then sit. This will decrease the risk of getting an infection.

  • Avoid traveling if you are not well

Whether it is a mild cough or an unexplained body ache, do not travel if you feel sick in any way. Also, maintain a 6 feet distance from others at all times.
