Many people suffer with bad eyesight problems due to certain bad habits like smoking, drinking etc.But do you know a healthy diet not only helps your heart, but also your eyes. Even serious eye conditions can be avoided by including foods that contain a range of vitamins, nutrients, and minerals, known as antioxidants. These antioxidants ward off oxidants that can affect your health in negative ways. Here is the list of some of them and you can enjoy them on their own or in more some recipes.
Egg yolk contains zinc, lutein, Vitamin A, and zeaxanthin which is necessary for getting good eyesight. Zeaxanthin and lutein prevent macular degeneration with age and cataracts. Apart from this, eggs give high protein, vitamin B2, and minerals like zinc, iron and copper.
Fish contains Omega-3 fatty acids in high amount which helps in keeping the retina of the eyes healthy. It is also a good source of iron, zinc, iodine, and magnesium aand vitamins like D & B2.
Oranges and other citrus fruits contain Vitamin C which is good for healthy eyes. Besides this the vitamin, found mainly in fresh fruits and vegetables contributes to healthy blood vessels in your eyes and prevents the cataracts formation.
Spinach contains vitamin A, B-complex, C and K, along with lutein, zeaxanthin beta-carotene, potassium manganese, magnesium, copper and zinc. The Lutein in spinach works to protect the eye from free radical damage by helping filter out damaging blue and ultraviolet light.
Eating Almonds are one of the best ways to keep your eyesight perfect. It contains vitamin E which fights unstable molecules that target healthy tissue. Apart from this, it also prevents cataracts and other eye-related issues.
Carrots have always been known as one of the best foods for eyes. It contains vitamin A and beta-carotene which prevent eye infections and other eye-related problems. Other attention-grabbing benefits are it protects against cancer, reduces the risk of heart disease & stroke etc.
