Vitamin C has a positive effect on skin, health immune system of the body and is important for bones, teeth and blood vessels. As the human body cannot produce or store vitamin C, it becomes essential for you to consume it in sufficient amount on a regular basis as deficiency of this vitamin can lead to bleeding gums, anemia and infection. In order to avoid all this, you must consume it on a regular basis so check out the list of food that has a high amount of Vitamin C:
One glass of orange juice contains 124 milligrams of Vitamin C, so one glass is enough to get one day’s required amount of vitamin C. Citrus fruits are the most common source of Vitamin C so you can have them raw or in juice form.
This vegetable has a lot of benefits and is loaded with vitamin C. One-half cup of cooked broccoli provides 51 mg of vitamin C.
Eating cantaloupe in summers is a refreshing way to kick off the heat plus it is an excellent source of Vitamin C as well. One cup of cubed cantaloupe has 60 milligrams of Vitamin C and is low in calories too.
Kiwi is a great source of Vitamin C and one small fruit contains about 71 mg of Vitamin C. It is also rich in potassium and fiber but low in calories. Besides this it also help reduce oxidative stress, lower cholesterol and improve immunity.
The juicy and sweet strawberries are loaded with vitamin C, about one cup of berries has 98 milligrams vitamin C. They are also a good source of fiber and potassium.
One medium sized green pepper has 95 milligrams of Vitamin C which is enough for one day and also has vitamin A and K.
Raw cabbage can add a bit of vitamin C to your daily intake, but cooked cabbage has even more. One cup of raw cabbage has about 30 milligrams of vitamin C while one cup of cooked cabbage has closer to 60 milligrams. Cabbage also contains antioxidants, minerals, vitamin K, and fiber.
