As India has been lockdown for the next 21 days, all of us are working from home. We are quarantined at home and the most difficult thing at this time is to manage our diet. Since we are at the home whole day and close to the kitchen, it is hard to control snacking which means unhealthy eating which further leads to weight gain. So here are few ways to keep your diet and weight in control while being quarantined at home:

Healthy breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so while you are at home, your breakfast must be filled with nutrient-rich foods to help you survive the day. You can eat foods like oats, cornflakes, eggs, quinoa, muesli, etc.

Smart snacking
We know you crave for lays and fried snacks, but avoid unhealthily and continued snacking. We know snacking is inevitable, but watch what you eat. Instead of chips, eat fruits, nuts or protein bars.

Exercise
One benefit of being quarantined is you can link your diet and workout. Take out time and workout at any time in the day. Use your idle time for a workout. Do household chores to burn extra calories.

Have dinner on time
To keep your mind and body healthy, have your dinner before 8 pm. Dinner should be the lightest meal of your day and must be eaten in small proportions. Try to eat healthy and filling foods.

We sip less amount of water when we are home so for that set reminders and drink as much water as you can. This will keep you healthy and energized.

Just because you are a few steps away from your kitchen doesn’t mean you will eat anytime. It is important to have a plan and following it. This way you don’t have to think about what you have to eat, a plan will simplify things.
