1. Pack some healthy Snacks

Pack some healthy snacks like protein bars, sugar-free cookies, sandwiches, baked chips, fresh fruits, veggies and hummus along with you when you are going on a road trip. These snacks will help in keeping you filled and will make you avoid eating junk from outside. For munching you can pack some roasted almonds instead of chips.

2. Keep a lot of Water

Though water is easily available but we would suggest you to carry yours as times the water quality on highways is not good. You can even keep an ice cooler or ice packs so that you can enjoy ice- cold water. Avoid  soda, cold drink and drinks which contain a lot of sugar and fat.

3. Stretch your legs

Stop frequently and get out of the car to walk around and do some stretches. When we continuously travel, our lower back, shoulders, and neck starts getting tensed so it is very important to relax them by moving out.

When you stop at any place to eat. Look for grilled and healthy items instead of fried heavy food.

5. Take proper rest

Do not drive without taking any break. Rest is really important so, whenever you feel sleepy switch your driving seat to the other seat by letting someone else drive. Driving alone for long hours makes you feel tired and sleepy which is not good for your health and is dangerous too.

6. Herbal Tea

While driving for long hours, your body gets dehydrated and you do not want to drink water again and again. So, to add little freshness and change in your drink, keep herbal tea with you. Put the packet of tea in a reusable water bottle and fill it with cold water for a relaxed drink.

7. Dress comfortable

Choose comfortable clothing according to the weather as you will have to sit for long hours in the car.  Also slather on some broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher at regular intervals to keep skin safe.

8. Medicines

Always keep the medicines handy so that you don’t have to hunt for them when required.
