Here are the reasons why wearing a mask while exercising are not a good idea:

  • Nausea

Lack of oxygen and breathlessness can result in nausea and dizziness.

  • Claustrophobia

As you breathe heavily while you are exercising, there are chances that you might get claustrophobic as the air supply is restricted by your mask which can be dangerous, so avoid wearing masks while working out.

  • Excessive sweating

Experts say when you keep on re-breathing the air you exhale and it increases your heart rate because of which you sweat a lot. And excessive sweating might lead to dehydration.

  • Fatigue

Wearing a mask can also make people feel fatigued faster than normal. A mask restricts airflow in and out of the mouth and nose creating a condition where oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange is compromised. While doing a physical activity the body’s carbon dioxide levels increase and this results in faster breathing. The mask might trap some of the Co2 inside, which can lead to fatigue.

Well, right now it is better to stay at home and stay safe.
