Whenever we hear that someone is unwell, we tend to drop them a get-well-soon message to check upon them. But while doing this with someone covid positive we need to be careful. A COVID-positive patient is already going through a lot, and the last thing they want are conversations that don’t make them feel better. So here are few things that you should never say to a covid positive person:
-
- “How did you get infected?”
- “You should have been more careful.”
-
- “Why didn’t you tell me you got COVID?”
- “How are you feeling now”?
- “I think you should get hospitalized,”
-
- You don’t seem very ill
- It’s good you’ve got it over and done with
- You are lucky you’ve got the antibodies now
- “Take good rest”
- “Do some home remedies as well”
- “You should’ve get tested before”
Instead, things that you should say:
-
- Have a light-hearted conversation, talk about how they feel
- Keep checking on them
- Ask them if they need any help
- Just a small “get well soon” text
- Tell them they can call you whenever you need them
- Do something special for them like social media posts, send them homemade food, or a greeting.
