Additionally, the women participating in this research study were asked to avoid food rich in polyphenols and anthocyanins.
The study conducted by Cornell University examined the serum of the participants after their diet was enriched with blueberries and the women between the age of 25-40had increased human muscle progenitor cell numbers in their respective cultures and similar results were seen for women between the ages of 60-75.
This study may not be generalizable for every woman but has been able to help researchers discover the effects of blueberries on muscle growth in women.
