2019 was all about new social media trends and applications and just like that there were some workout trends that sports icons sworn by throughout the year. These trends were not only followed by them but they became a hit as well. This year many sports stars from various fields like cricket, wrestling, gymnastics, and tennis gave us some major fitness goals. Starting from Virat Kohli to Sania Mirza, the popular icons reminded us that fitness is an important part of life. From Yoga to pilate, here is the list of workout trends that ruled 2019: 

Power training 

This training is important for sports wherein sudden bursts of activities are required such as jumping, changing direction, moving objects and more. All the football, basketball, cricket, gold players and baseball players rely on this form of training. It focuses on strength, muscle and general fitness. 

Circuit training 

Circuit training is a style of workout that requires you to cycle through several exercises targeting various muscle groups with little rest in between. It results in increased muscular strength and endurance. 

Yoga

Whether it is increasing flexibility or improved athletic performance, yoga has become a favorite workout among celebrities. Most of them have incorporated it into their daily workout plan. Yoga is the best workout to stay fit and healthy. 

Pilates

This year saw the rise of one more new form of workout that is Pilates. It focuses on your core strength and muscle balance. Some sportspersons swore by this form of workout throughout the year.  

HIIT 

High-Intensity Interval Training helps in burning fat, pushing you to sweat, elevates your heart rate and improves your lung capacity. This all is done in a fraction of time, this one is for people who can’t spend much time in the gym.
