It is important to stay fit and people are actively trying to incorporate exercise in their routine. Taking up exercise can change your body and it takes a while for it to adjust to getting active. Knee ache is a common problem that many people complain of and this can happen for a number of reasons. 

It may be a sign of injury or could simply happen due to over-exertion. If you are suffering from knee pain and are not sure what to do, here is how you can work around this problem:

Avoid putting too much pressure on knees 

If you have started lifting weights or have increased them, make sure to cut back a little so that your knees can heel. If you have simply started staying active or walking, try to take it slow and see if it improves the pain.

Take a break from exercise 

If your knee pain aggravated after performing a certain exercise, avoid doing it for a few days and give your knee some time to heal.  You may even want to adjust the intensity of your workouts. 

Support your knee 

Use a rolled towel or a soft pillow to support your knees while resting. This will help in healing if there is any injury. 

Focus on strengthening it 

With the help of a professional, exercise your knees and try to strengthen it. This will also help in restoring normal movement. 

Add foods that promote healing 

Eat food items that promote healing. Have nuts, almond milk, fruits and make your diet overall nutritious.
