Waxing is a part of our monthly to-do list but most women get worried by looking at the bumps after waxing. After-wax bumps are the most common skin problem, and trust me they are normal. These tiny red bumps develop due to inflammation and may last up to a week. But there are some ways to treat them and get the softer skin back:
- Try cold compress
As the rash is a result of inflammation, you can treat it with a cold compress. Apply an ice pack directly on it or dip a washcloth in ice-cold water and press it against the skin. It will help reduce the bumps and swelling. Do it for at least 10 minutes.
- Use aloe vera gel
Aloe vera consists of cooling and healing properties and that is why it is a great ingredient for sensitive skin. If you get wax bumps after every wax session then use aloe vera gel on your skin after waxing. It will help treat itching and irritation.
- Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil can work wonders for treating waxing bumps. As it has antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties, it prevents infections. It also speeds up the skin’s natural healing process.
- Exfoliate and moisturize
Cleanse and exfoliate your skin to get rid of inflammation. Use warm water and a mild scrub to gently exfoliate your skin and then apply a lightweight moisturizer. Keep your skin moisturized.
- Coconut oil
Coconut oil moisturizes the skin and soothes inflammation. It can also speed up the recovery process of the skin after waxing sessions.
