If you are a fitness enthusiast you might know how important push-ups are and if you are trying to get in shape then they are a must. This workout alone tones up your entire body, given that you do it in the right way. Though in the beginning, doing push-ups can be challenging but the art of mastering them is amazing. Just imagine something that you are not able to do initially, but eventually, you master that. It will be great right? If you too are struggling to do push-ups then here are some basic rules that you must follow:

  • Start from basic

Starting your pushups on the ground is a great way to make sure you are doing the move correctly and building endurance. It will also help you to decide when you have to modify. Keep your spine straight and involve your core to boost endurance while performing this exercise.

  • Keep your arms wider

It is always a great idea to stick to the simple form of push-ups. Place your hand more than shoulder-width apart on the ground. Your thumbs and armpits should be in line with your elbows at a 45-degree angle from the sides when you are down.

  • Go up until your arms are straight

You have to make sure that your arms are straight when you go up. Keep going up until your arms are straight

  • Don’t keep your butts high

Don’t keep your hips high while doing a push-up. Doing this will disengage the core muscle. Keeping your hips in the air can put a lot of stress on your shoulders. You have to engage your abs while doing this exercise.

  • Don’t drop your head low
Keep your spine straight so your head is aligned with the rest of your body. This will prevent you from any kind of injury. Don’t let your chin hit the floor at the bottom.
  • Focus on quality rather than quantity

10 perfectly done push-ups are way better than 20 push-ups with bad form. The numbers do not matter, what matters is whether you are doing it in the right way or not as quality is more important than quantity.
