Here is Why you Should Not Add Honey to Warm Water!

We all love to have a healthy morning routine and most of the time it includes having something or the other  with water as soon as we wake up. One of the most common combinations is honey and warm water but did you know that it is actually harmful.

Honey and warm water separately have numerous health benefits but when mixed together, it can be toxic. Here is what to know about this combination.

The mixture you may think will flush out toxins from your body will actually have a negative impact. Honey is never supposed to be heated or cooked and when it is done, it may turn into poison.  According to Ayurveda, warm honey should not be consumed as it leads to the formation of a toxic substance in the body called “ama”  and it can cause many diseases.

Honey should only be consumed in its raw form and preferably straight from the source. Packaged honey sold in markets may be subjected to high temperatures and that can make the entire product toxic.

Science also supports this claim as a study has shown that heating up honey can release a chemical named  5-hydroxymethylfurfural or HMF which is known to be cancerous in nature.

If you still wish to have honey with water or milk, make sure it is at room temperature and then you can add this delicious natural sweetener to your preferred drink. Prefer using raw honey free from refined sugar.
