Is Beer Healthier Than Milk?

Now that people are turning vegan, dairy products are being criticized more than ever. Many research and studies have highlighted the harmful effects of consuming dairy products. PETA revealed that beer is healthier and the information was backed up with sufficient evidence.

This isn’t the first time that beer’s benefits are being discussed. Historians even argue that people in ancient times  were dependent on beer for energy.  So lets discuss the benefits of beer and milk

Benefits of beer

To start off, beer contains antioxidants which are known to have anti-aging effects. Beer also contains soluble fiber, iron, and phosphates. It strengthens bones as there is enough calcium in it to show this kind of effect. Consuming beer in moderation may also prevent the formation of kidney stones. Its moderate consumption also reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Benefits of Milk

Milk contains essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, proteins, and carbohydrates. We are familiar with milk being called complete food as it contains all major food groups. Vitamin B12, Vitamin A, Potassium, Magnesium, Zinc, and Thiamine are essentially present in milk.

Milk Vs Beer

Milk causes bloating, acne and even indigestion in some people. People who are lactose-intolerant are advised not to consume any milk products. Milk consumption is also not advised to people with Coronary Heart Disease as it contains saturated fatty acids and lactose (milk sugar). Whereas Beer is high in calories so leads to beer belly , interfares with blood sugar level, interacts with medications, can raise blood sugar level and can lead to heartburn too.

The above reasons clarify that beer might have health benefits but not the kind which milk has to offer. So moderate consumption of beer is fine but milk is also important especially for kids.
