Fasting for the first time? Tips to sail through the day

Karva Chauth is one of the most important festivals for all married women as they keep a fast for their partner’s long life. Staying without food and water is not that easy and especially for the ones who are doing it for the first time. So here we have listed some important tips that you must keep in mind

  • Keep yourself hydrated, drink lots of water at the night before the day of Karva Chauth and also early morning at the time of sargi so that your body does not get weak.
  • Pamper yourself by booking a spa session or by getting ready in the salon after all it’s your day and you need to look perfect.
  • Distraction is really important because the more you will think about hunger, the more it will be difficult. Thus spend time listening to songs, watching movies or talking to your husband.
  • Sargi plays important roles in your entire fasting so eat the right amount of food at this time. Have protein-rich items like dry fruits, fruits, nuts, milk products, juices, etc. They will help you to sail through the day easily.
  • Do not exert yourself too much and focus more on resting because your body needs energy which comes from food.
  • Do not forget to drink lemonade after breaking your fast as your body demands to get rehydrated.
  • Avoid acidic beverages soon after fast is done as it can again trigger acidity in your body.
  • Instead of having deep-fried and spicy foods go for some light items which are easy to digest.
  • No doubt after breaking the fast the first thing you want is food but do not just grab everything without taking a break. Start from fresh juice and then eat slowly so that it’s easily digestible and does not cause any problem.
  • Instead, opt for fresh fruit juice or coconut water to keep yourself hydrated throughout the day.
  • This may seem a little weird but brushing your teeth whenever you feel hungry and thirsty can help you curb your cravings.
