Tips to Stay Fit this Diwali

One of the most popular festivals is on its way and Diwali is just incomplete without tasty snacks, late night fun, yummy desserts, and finger-licking sweets. It’s really tough to make sure you don’t take in excessive calories during this time but nothing is impossible. So, here we have listed down some important tips for you to stay fit this Diwali:

  • The first and foremost thing you must keep in mind is to follow your diet as you were doing earlier. Festival does not mean overeating, keep your calorie intake in the count.
  • Strictly avoid eating refined flour (maida) and also things which have too much sugar.
  • Instead of eating sweets from the market, prepare them at home in a healthy way. Nowadays, there are a lot of alternatives which are tasty and fat-free too.
  • No matter what you are eating, share it with your friends or partner. This is a strategy that makes you eat less.
  • Do check your sugar level in the morning and also during the day to make sure it does not rise too high.
  • Engage yourself more in physical activities. Take stairs instead of the lift, go for a walk, help out your partner in Diwali preparations, etc.
  • No doubt alcohol is a must need for many during festivities but healthy is equally important so take it in a limited amount. Too much of its consumption stops the sugar to break down in the body which is really harmful.
  • Do not stay up the late-night at because it will disturb your metabolism. Take at least 6 to 7 hours of sleep.
  • Exercise daily or try to at least walk for 30 mins.
  • Drink plenty of water and avoid aerated drinks and binge drinking.
  •  Go for shallow frying or dry frying instead of deep frying. Use fewer potatoes and more vegetables in the snacks.
  • If you are a non-vegetarian try to eat roasted chicken and fish and avoid carbs.
