Airports are infamous for expensive meals and snacks and while every major food chain has an outlet at numerous airports but still it is best to travel with your own set of snacks due to a number of reasons.

First off all this does not throw off your diet and you are still in control of what you eat.  You keep the stress of eating calorie-dense snacks away and save so much money that you would have spent on food for a few hours of traveling.

Now that you know that it’s a good idea so here are some snacks that are deemed suitable to be brought on the plane.

Fruits

A mix of cut fruits is the best airplane snack for short flights. Pack them in tiffins and carry them along. We all know these are low-calorie and highly nutritional snacks which would totally encourage you to skip the ones sold in-flight.

Dry fruits

Dry fruits like walnut, almonds, cashews, pistachios, etc are packed with healthy fats and many essential vitamins. The fat in them also keeps you satiated for long.

Popcorn

Popcorns are actually the healthiest snack as they are rich in calcium, helps build bones and contains vitamins and minerals. Munch on some not so buttery popcorn while enjoying your favorite movie on the flight.

Mixed salad

Get your veggies in and have a fiber-packed salad on your journey. If you don’t like raw vegetables, you can always add dressing as per your taste. Store the dressing and salad separately to keep the salad from becoming soggy.

Sandwiches and wraps

If you have a long flight then you can carry homemade sandwiches and wraps with you. You can follow any recipe or stick to your usual one as well.

Protein bars/Granola bars

Carry bars of your choice on your flight and opt for the ones with no added sugar. It is a perfect snacking option for people who don’t snack much but still want to be satiated while traveling.
