The WHO defines burn-out as “chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed”. According to them the symptoms of this problem include exhaustion; increased mental distance from one’s job, feeling of negativism and reduced professional efficacy. They have also stated that this condition only happens because of the reasons related to work environment, not any other personal life issue.

This situation was termed as Burn Out by a German psychologist named Herbert Freudenberger, he found some of his colleagues in this state and them himself too got into it.

It is not a state which can be cured by a vaccination as the person becomes emotionally and physically paralysed due to excessive demand of strength and energy.

“It’s not limited to workers in acutely high-stress environments. And it’s not a temporary affliction: It’s the millennial condition. It’s our base temperature. It’s our background music. It’s the way things are. It’s our lives” writer Anne Helen Peterson stated.
