Spending Too Much Time in AC? Ways to Protect Your Skin from Drying

Though we love monsoons but the current weather makes it impossible to sit without  an air conditioner to provide relief from uncomfortable heat and sweat. However the comfort provided by AC also costs something and it is not just a fever or cold but dry skin.

The cool air that comes from an AC can disturb your skin’s moisture balance. So you might feel cool but we don’t realize that it is creating a severe imbalance of moisture levels for the skin. This can further make your skin dry, so here are some remedies that will not let your skin dry: 

You can use honey as an effective remedy to cure dry and dehydrated skin. Honey has antimicrobial and moisturizing properties. Apply raw honey to your skin and leave it for 10 minutes and rinse it off with water. 

  • Coconut oil 

Coconut oil consists of emollient properties that fill up spaces between your skin cells and creates a smooth surface. It hydrate and smoothen your skin. Coconut is gentle enough for everyday use so just apply some drops of coconut oil on different body parts. 

  • Petroleum jelly 

Jelly can seal moisture into your skin effectively. After taking a bath you must rub it onto the dry and chapped areas of your skin. 

  • Sunflower oil 

Sunflower oil helps the skin to retain its moisture. It is rich in Vitamin E that traps the moisture inside the skin cells and keeps it hydrated for a long time.

  • Milk 

For a relaxing bath add some milk to the tub as this will help you with dry and itchy skin. Milk contains lactic acid which helps exfoliate dead skin cells.it also has anti-inflammatory properties which can help the skin heal quickly. 

  • Aloe vera 

This miracle plant can also be used to treat dry skin. A person with dry skin on their hands or feet can apply aloe vera gel and cover the affected area with a sock. Try to leave the gel on all night and rinse in the morning.
